Re: Dixon minis

The command figures are nice but they are much smaller in size as in noticeably smaller but they match perfect for the Grand Alliance range, Foundry are a larger 28mm scale? I've never bought them before I'll give them a go 👍

Re: The English Expedition to Portugal, 1662-1668

I see I know alot did use just the St George Cross with coloured quarters but don't know what they were like before Augsberg period

ECW was more symbols, cyphurs worded scrolls and piles wavy but that's about as far as my knowledge goes for ECW flags.

Glad you found you're answers

Re: The English Expedition to Portugal, 1662-1668

The English flags were usually just a plain ALL one colour field for the colonels and the battalion or company would be the St George Cross with different coloured corners depending on the regiment. Alot of the coloured flags would match the regiment uniform cuff colour eg green flag would be kirks ...

But guards says each "Company" had a flag just wondered if they were ALL identical or different abit like the English company fl...

Re: German states: Dates of flintlock adoption?

Hmmmm I would say highly likely as flintlocks were probably more expensive at the time and you wouldn't want untrained units or rabble miss using them

Re: Saxon uniforms in NYW?

I've seen some red coats with various cuff colours and also grey coats with various cuff colours, also they all seem to have brown breeches so red coats brown breeches and grey coats brown breeches... maybe there like bavarian breeches which were leather rather than cloth? Also stocking colours diff...

Re: French uniforms

Unless king Louis xiv wanted his troops uniforms at the height of fashion and style maybe he was making a statement saying my troops don't use just plain boring grey wool look closely and you see a pale blue mixed thread aswell go on look, look closer 😄 otherwise surely just adding another thread of...

Re: French uniforms

OK I'll stick with my Vallejo Silver Grey for coats and breeches its a very light grey but not like the vallejo Off white which I use for shirt sleeves cravats and stockings otherwise I think they will just be ALL off white the entire figure, as for ink shade it seems brown rather than black is used?
