Re: ACW, Rules &

Thank you David. Being a 'Barry devotee' I've not used Black Powder, although I've got the rules & various supplements. I will get hold of a copy of 'Hallelujah' just for the info. I have RFF & it's scenario books as I found the unit labels etc very helpful. Obviously,I'm eager to see Barry's rules w...

Re: ACW, Rules &

That is very helpful Gunter.

If Barry is working on a rule set then I will make this a long term project.

Is the draft available? Thanks. Paul.

ACW, Rules &

I'm thinking of dabbling in the ACW period. Any recommendations for 15/28mm figure ranges?

Also, what rule sets are people using? Anyone recommend Regimental Fire & Fury?

Many thanks. Paul

Re: Regiments without pikes

After a Barry 'rule adjustment' on that second Derby day, my swedes died to a man, completely tangled up!

I'm still in therapy.

Re: Uniform Guides for the Boyne

What are your thoughts about the composition of the Jacobite Drogheda garrison in 1690?

I have no provenance for this, but I have been told that it consisted of the following:-

Viscount Magennis of Iveagh

Regiments;

- Bourke
- Iveagh
- MacElligott.

Many thanks Barry.

I'm currently gathering together appropriate buildings. The new Caliver Plancenoit Church model arrived this week.

325th Anniversary of Battle of Aughrim

For those interested, the May/June edition of the "History Ireland" magazine carried an advert for a 325th Commemoration of the Battle of Aughrim,1691. It takes place in Aughrim, County Galway on the 16th/17th July. The ad says:- "Aughrim Remembered will once again host a display of Period Arms, Tal...

Re: Plancenoit,1815. BUAs?

Agreed. I have seen other Plancenoit games on the web but I really want to stick with using R2E rule set. But at present I don't think a single BUA for Plancenoit would work.

This me to ponder. Tks. Paul

Plancenoit,1815. BUAs?

Dear 'Comrades' & our R2E experts Barry/Toggy/Gerry,some advice please. Summer project is French v Prussians at Plancenoit. I'm looking at 12 x 6 table but I'm really unsure how to handle the village as a BUA. Barry mentioned possibly dividing the village into 4 individual BUAs & I'd welcome suggest...
