Re: First blog ever!

Sheepman try Google translate I use it for reading Flemish & Dutch sites and it works well, I am a bit obsessed with the Belgium army of 1914. My school boy Spanish can just about cope with Julian's blog and your right to guess there is a lot of good stuff their, I would also add that Spanish is not...

Re: Pikes

I tend to glue them to the figure before priming it & paint them with the rest of the figure. I find that they tend to stick better that way & stay that way in use.

of course I could have said with a paint brush an Acrylic paint but I trying to be "good".

Re: 2nd wave

Pictures would be nice as the Mixed Foot 1 (poses that will compliment WLOA1-WLOA9) Mixed Foot 2 (poses that will compliment WLOA1-WLOA9) have particularly peaked my interest especially as given the numbers of figures I will need my Sharp Practice variant & my insane craving for variety of pose wher...

Re: First blog ever!

liked the blog Julian & for once being forced to study Spanish as school had a good use even if after all these years I did have to scurry off the the English Spanish dictionary a few times.

Re: First Look at Wargames Factory WSS Cavalry

Rather nice I have some myself which I am building as a troop of French "light horse" for my Sharp Practice variant. I did quite a bit of light conversion, I like playing like this with plastics, on them & mixed in some heads from the infantry as there are lots of spares if you buy any number boxes....

Re: WARFARE MINIATURES PAINTING COMPETITION

I have painted most of my French Militia the first company of the Parish of St Mary's levy. Various shades of silver to pale brownish grey coats with undyed wool turn backs over assorted civilian waist coats knee britches and stockings topped off with a selection of floppy hats mostly black or grey ...

Re: Wargames factory WSS question

They look fine on round bases as do the Warfare miniatures as a mater of fact I know this because all mine are based on UK Pennies which are of a similar size to US cents base to base they look suitably close ordered to me at least.

Re: Light troops & Smaller actions 1680 1700

I did consider that but I know there is a well developed set of modifications to Sharp Practice for north America even if most of the games & published scenarios are for the French and Indian war & later. I did think of Queen Anne's war briefly. I also find Sharpe a good set for gaming the battle wi...

Re: Wargames factory WSS question

I have a box of the infantry & the cavalry which I bought to bulk out my forces. The infantry figures are fine considering they are mostly two poses both marching with head variants I do have a couple of problems with them. First the marching figures have fitted socket or ring bayonets, but these ca...

Re: Light troops & Smaller actions 1680 1700

 sorry I know Austria was mixed up in the War of Spanish succession and meant my comment to apply to the Nine Years War. forgive me for I am just re-entering the period after thirty years wandering around in other very different periods. I am now quite elderly and easily confused. Ginger

Re: Light troops & Smaller actions 1680 1700

I also thought that the Austrians Coats where light infantry but not in the later sense as they seemed to be almost tribal auxiliaries, and I dont think Austria was drawn into either of theses wars having its own struggles with the Turks at the time. I will therefore operate on the principle that th...

Re: Good 28mm and 15mm systems?

if you wander onto the miniatures page (TMP) remember to wear the shark suit as its not called PMT! for nothing & its best to search rather than ask as you may attract much mockery for not already knowing the answer to the question your asking. Not much of a Napoleonic gamer myself, stoped in the 19...
