Bob,

Absolutely stunning. This is the sort of work that I dream about.

Did you actually wax their moustaches? :P

Ray,

I'm afraid not. I thought I'd get a few "practice runs" in on the Froggies before I committed to the ancestors.

Thanks to everyone for the kind comments.

...How did you find painting the Copplestone's? Edward, Actually they were a pleasant surprise; the detail is finely etched and the castings are extremely clean. I invested in an "Optivisor" from Front Rank and that meant I could actually see what I was painting. The downside was that it frightened...

Gentlemen, First of all, thanks to Churchill who showed my how to figure out Photobucket. I don't know how to get this any bigger. So, this is my first regiment - a big boy did it and ran away - seriously, I am reasonably pleased with it considering I hit sixty running this year and my eyesight is ...

Hi Ray,

Many thanks. With a bit of luck I shall post my first image later today so at least you should get a good laugh. Sixty years old and blind as a bat,

Ray, They look Great. In an earlier image, it looked as if hardboard was used for the basing. If so, how does one manage to cut it so accurately? It's not the easiest material to work with. Also you may have answered this before but, was there any particular print used as a source? Kindst regards, ...

Gentlemen, I have been looking through some of the photographs on Angus Konstan's site of what must have been a great weekend and I can't but help get an image in my mind of the only unit that would have added an extra dimension to the proceedings: a company of Cameron Highlanders singing "We will ...

Edward, Excellent site. Thank you for the heads up. On another note, having just seen some comments on the subject of who has painted what, I am now beginning to realise why they call this forum "FIGHTINGTALK" and can assure all of you that any images I put up will be all my own work. You will know...

...Which period are your regiments going to be rasied from :?: Edward, Definitely the Grand Alliance period. Copplestone's figures are eminently suited to this. I am hoping someone comes out with a sculpt of Luxembourg (complete with hump) to lead my little army. Thanks to all the well-wishers and ...

The Road to Perdition

Gentlemen, I have just embarked on what will be my first army for this period. It will be French. I have looked carefully at Churchill's Blenheim OOB thread for inspiration and have been positively sickened by the standard of painting. I can seriously imagine that guy staying up 'till 3.00am waxing...

Barry,

I'm on my second reading of the book and enjoying every minute of it but, what page were the naked women on?

Yeah, I got the same news from Caliver and unsubscribed... Marechal Ney, Unfortunately it was the only site from which I could obtain C S Grant's two volumes on the uniforms of Marlborough's wars and there are a few other out of print books that they come up with, so I'm afraid I will have to stick...

I have purchased all my dice from the above online retailer including D-avs and, for the arithmetically challenged like me, genuine D-3s.

They will post anywhere.
