Re: french 1690 uniform details

I put 4 flags in my WSS French battalions. I'm kind of a nut for flags.

Re: WSS French test!(need input)

I think it is fine and if you like it then that is good enough. People can argue all they want but no one can tell with any certainty that your color is wrong. One thing to remember about the WSS period is they had not started to use pipe clay because all of the belts were in a natural leather color...

Beautiful work. I love how the bases look and the flags are stunning.

Can you get the polo-shirts in any color (as long as it's navy)?

Re: VwQ cards

Greg,

That just might do the trick. The other system always has you put in a reshuffle card so handling it like Maurice does and not using one for the first round sounds good. Thanks.

Re: VwQ cards

What would you define as 'properly designed'? Like I mentioned, we have people who've played commercially available rules that are card driven and they sat for hours with no actions available because their cards never came up. Their unit cards were never drawn before a new turn card was pulled. Then...

A Gaming Discussion - rules like Maurice

I've got a question for everyone. Have you played Maurice and if so what do you think about how 'command' is handled in it? Command seems to be 'fungible' or flexible if you like a real word. Instead of having defined command groups say like BLB or most any other rule set in Maurice at the beginning...

VwQ cards

Clarence, I would like to recommend that if/when you alter the cards in your rule set have them be more like what Maurice has. I do not prefer a card driven system where I have to wait for my card to come up so I can move a unit. We have horror stories here of people who never got to move during an ...

Re: Another 1806 Prussian unit completed, plus WSS Bavarians

in case you dont want to have odd numbers of bases for your guards how about the trick I do for my "40's" by having 40 figures only on paper while fielding 36(6x6) figures? Only a suggestion of course Gunter, Thanks for the idea and I've seen that mentioned on this site with other games. Here's my ...

Re: Another 1806 Prussian unit completed, plus WSS Bavarians

Phil and Gunter, Thanks for the comments. As to the color of the Bavarians, well this is my interpretation of their sky blue/cornflower blue uniform. :) I'm sure some will disagree with it but that is the fun in painting up figures - you get to decide! Yes, there are a lot of figures to paint for th...

Color of Bavarian flag staffs in WSS?

Does anyone know what the color of the flag staff was for the Bavarians during the WSS (foot and horse)? Was it natural wood, blue like the uniforms, the facing color of the regiment, or something else?

Thank you.
