Painting/Highlighting blackened armor

Post by Rob Herrick » Fri Oct 15, 2010 3:57 pm

My Warlord cuirassiers arrived, and they're the first thing on the painting table.

This raises the question - how do people (especially Barry) paint/highlight their blackened armor when it constitutes most of the figure? Most of my experience is with 15mm SYW or Napoleonicss where it's pretty simple and the blackened armor is just a breastplate.

I dry brush Bolt Gun metal. Its a pencil lead color with a slight sheen. You can tone it down with a wash if need be.

I use a Fjord Grey to highlight. Nice bluish effect.
