They must have a long memory! I'm sure I gave all that up when I got married again in 1994. Right enough, at my age the memory can play tricks.

It's Count Solms, he always had it in for Barry's English, Irish and Scottish Regiments.

Seems our "friend" is back in his "office" flooding this site again with senseless entries in the memberlist. I counted 40 today.

Barry,
Have you ever thought of having one of those script thingies that you have to copy to prove you are human prior to making a membership submission?
On second thoughts, that would have excluded myself and about half the forum

Well, I am sure that you all noticed the site's absence for about 18 hours. It was the same story as usual although this time there was some dispute between my web-meister snd the host re:where tHe responsibility lay thus the extended delay. It appears that the Forum itslef may be the source of the problem with multiple connections being made by the spambot and not being severed - thus potentially putting the server in jeopardy.
The attacks all seem to originate with some Wanker in California who, if I ever get to meet him/her, will appreciate fullywhat a Glasgow Kiss feels like
Thanks to all who mailed me to let me know what was going on..

Well, today has topped them all so far. 79 SPAMBOT Forum membership requests in less than 24 hours. All have to be manually removed singly after I've checked their bonafides.
Now perhaps frustrated potential members might understand why it's easier to get into Fort Knox than to join these Boards!

Barry, I have just looked in the members list and noticed how many SPAM applications you have had even over the last two days. I'm amazed how you manage to get any work, wiiting, answering questions, painting or wargaming done sorting out that load of crap. I never realised there were so many wargamers in Nigeria, Niceragua, etc.
Cheers

Once again swamped
recognized by me only because I have to try 10 minutes to get this page!
Sofar 32 new "members" today - whoever this is, his brains must have gone lost while trying to sniff the white lines on a football field with a straw...
Someone should invent a new Computer security system... sending back a 5000 Volt discharge into his PC to fry off all he has where or whatever
The following is a spambot search tool against Spammers:

Barry!
Use the link on one of the adresses, it leads to

Lets hope they give you some idea how to get rid of them

It could be argued i've wasted a lot of time painting not very impressive figures or playing games on a table that count for nothing in the real world. I've wasted time in supermarket queues, petrol stations and watching crap T.V. Listening to boring people and waiting for people to answer telephones. But i've never been so moronic as to waste time coming up with bogus names to enter a website i'm not intrested in!
I think someone needs alot of therapy and or care.

So "Dashing Blade" is your real name then?

the number of BOT registrations is now up to in excess of 150 per day. When the new forum kicks in I understand that we'll be able to eliminate this problem. Website transformation is being held up by me! Too many projects and at the moment BLB2 is taking priority. I don't think anyone on the forum will be too unhappy about my choice

Jim,
it just so happens that "dashing" is a family name and "blade" is from the long line of Roscrea Blades .
P.S. Thats twice you've caught me out! beware the crafty Scot!
