OK, Laddie, you have actually got me following your blog now as you can probably tell by some of the comments. Great stuff.

Dear Yar68,
All very good reasons for attending shows. :D
However with tongue firmly in cheek , may i suggest a few rather negative views from past experience.
1. The wonderful smell of other punters and their charming social skills.
2. The long drawn out affair of painting comps and the growing depression of seeing yet another superb fantasy figure winning yet again.
3. Dazzling selection of heavy metal T-shirts.Often beautifully matched with combat pants( Why do people wear combat/D.P.M. when you dont have to?)
4. The selection of healthy food.
5. Parking in the next county in a muddy field recently fertilized.
6. Starting a new era because you liked the latest range on display ,and later regretting the expense.

I'm not having a go at any show or event, just a collection of bad memories from previous shows.

I guess that was 11 reasons then..

The first 5

And the last 6!

I think anyone who thinks they are going to other shows in the UK and are likely to see the last 6 is sorely dillusional..

Dream on Anoraks!

Questions I often ask myself...has he got a tent pitched outside :?:
Is he really buying that much lead :?: Did he not want to pay the food prices and has brought enough to feed the family :?:
So he stands there not buying anything and just blocks your view of anything on the bring & buy and when he finally decides to move he nearly decapitates you or anyone near him.

Guilty M'lord! :D

Perhaps he has something special in his bag? Maybe a unit carefully packed away for the painting comp.? :D

Or maybe he has special dietry requirements and has no choice but to bring his own food? Or just finds the cholesterol inbued food anathema  :D

Or maybe he just likes to test the usual appalling dexterity of his fellow wargamers  :D .

Or maybe, don't judge a book by it's cover :D . Possibly this character, marginalised as he seems to be, feels all the more recalcitrant for it

I've gotta agree with you all on most of them points. I think all shows should provide a free can of Lynx to each person through the door, then you can spray the smelly git at the bring and buy or even better as he's reaching for them stupidly cheap Perry figures that you just spotted you can spay him in the eyes, and grab 'em yourself!

Actualy I'm quite cheesed off  That "Reason to visit a wargame show + the ladies" post I blogged has had over 700 hits in the last couple of days. The photos of the troops I've loving painted for weeks on end only get on average 300.............it just shows, nothing compares to the power of boobies!!!

Bit paradoxical really.. as you can see more than a few at wargames shows but they are not attached to ladies

Amazons are leaning a little too far to the fantasy side for me, but its a damn good idea, love the crack about man boobs!!
