New Highlanders - First Greens

Post by GrahamC » Tue Apr 03, 2012 1:57 pm

Hi,
for those that may be interested I'm in the middle of commissioning a small range of figures for the Jacobite Highland rebellions. Sculpted by Richard Ansell my first 6 figures are under away and the greens can be viewed on my Scotia Albion blog spot.
This is a private venture mainly for my imagination and whilst I will not be creating a major commercial venture the figure will most probably be available through the blog once complete.
At present I'm planning on around 20 figures in the range and comments are greatly appreciated.
Thanks

They are great mate. I hope you do make them commercially available.

Keep at it - cannot wait to see them finished!

Great news Richard sent me the completed greens, :D
I think I had them in my hands for less than two hours before they were repacked and shipped off to Stewart at Griffin moulds for the master mould to be made.
Not certain how long thats going to take. I've also decided that I will sell them under Crann Tara (Fiery Cross) Miniatures the symbol used by the Clans as a call to arms for war.
Initially I will make the figures available through my blog, but as the range expands I will look at either creating another site dedicated to the figures or a web shop! At least that's the initial thoughts.
You can see the pics on the blog at the following;-

Well thanks for the kind comments, the metal masters arrived from Griffin today which was a nice birthday present and all I can say is wow!

If I can work out how to get photos on here then I aim to paint a few figures up next week and will put the pics on here and on the blog.

Size wise again I will get a few pics arranged. The figures are slim but well detailed so in terms of comparing Front Rank, which I use for my Marlburian those chaps are monsters compared to these.

In the Black Powder supplement Last Argument of Kings there are pics of Charles Grant's collection of Minden Miniatures which these are designed to complement.

In terms of availability to buy I will be arranging for the production moulds to be made over the next couple of weeks? and hopefully will have some figures ready for sale by the end of May.

The greens are going back to Richard for the next set of six sculpts, Highlanders with jackets.

Thanks again for the interest

Managed to get six highlanders painted and finished over the weekend,
the pictures are too big to upload here so if you want a peek check them out on the blog http://scotiaalbion.blogspot.co.uk/
hope you like them.
All the figures come open handed so there's quite a bit of variety to play with.
