28mm telescopes

Post by Rob Herrick » Sun Nov 04, 2012 6:42 pm

Does anybody know of a manufacturer that makes a 28mm telescope suitable for putting in a miniature's hand? Or do I have to sculpt my own out of brass rod and greenstuff?

Thanks!

The officer in the Warfare artillery set is holding a telescope against his left hip. Don't know if this figure would meet your needs.

Unfortunately not.

I've got a Foundry Carabinier Standard Bearer I'm thinking of converting into part of the escort for GbD Blancard for 1815. A telescope in the open hand (instead of the pole for the Eagle) seemed a quick bit of conversion to do. Otherwise, I may greenstuff up a message or something.

Rob, I'd say some brass or plastic rod with a dab of GW's Liquid Greenstuff would do the job a lot cheaper than sacrificing a figure, or even buying a purpose built telescope, if such a thing exists. The other option would be to cut off & file/shape a piece of white metal from a moulding tab some figures have.
Cheers, Rohan.

Bit of plastic sprue, held over a candle and 'stretched', then cooled. Cut to size, add Green Stuff, and voilá! 8)

Irregular Miniatures have a telescope that doubles as a swivel gun in their pirate range.
