Fort Sumter to Appomattox.

Slightly strange experience. Instead of going to New Orleans my wife and I decided to come to Charleston. I went on the boat trip to Ft Sumter and whilst walking around it struck me that I have now gone full circle , start to finish of the period that started me off wargaming more than 50 years ago! I don't know why but it was slightly emotional!
Charleston is a beautiful city and I have been very impressed with the welcome. Still a week to go and more to see.
The Yorktown is moored 200 yards from where we are staying as is the USS Laffey , struck by 6 kamikazes and 3 x 500 lb bombs. It still fought on!
