I regret to inform you of the sudden and unexpected death of Hugh Wilson from the South East Scotland Wargames Club. I don't know the exact details of his death but he had major leg surgery 3 weeks back and had developed a serious infection, he was rushed into the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary last night and died of a heart attack.
Many of you will have seen Hugh touting his wares around various Wargames shows in Scotland and he helped to raise a lot of money for military personnel suffering from PTSD. He will be sadly missed by everyone that knew him and especially his partner Suzanne.

Such sad news. Hugh will be sorely missed. I last saw him at Vapnartak where he was once again helping others. I really enjoyed gaming with him late last year at our Gangster weekend in November. He was an enthusiastic and creative gamer and I will always remember him with a smile.

He was a very talented terrain maker and he used to run some great games at his house. He helped to raise thousands of pounds for Combat Stress and Help for Heroes so both those agencies will miss his contributions.

Always a cheery guy. Did a great job selling Iain Holt's stuff and raising money for combat stress. Spoke to him at the battlefield show and he was his usual ebullient self . A sad loss

The only reason he wasn't at your show Jim was because that was when he went in for his op. He always enjoyed the trip down to your clubs annual show.
Cheers

Very sorry to hear that I always enjoyed talking to Hugh at the shows.
A few years ago I had a very enjoyable WAB game at a tournament organised by Chris and Tim,Hugh's Roman against my Macedonians.
He'll be sorely missed.........

I have just heard from Hugh's wife that his funeral will take place on Monday 25th April at 1pm in the Mortonhall Crematorium if any people who knew him wish to attend.
