FOUR EMPIRES AT SALUTE

Post by barr7430 » Sun Mar 11, 2012 11:41 am

Although FOUR EMPIRES will not be ready for release at SALUTE we will be using a draft version of it on a very attracive demonstration table. The table is built by Dave Bodley of Grand Manner. We will be using Great War Miniatures troops and the game will be billed on the programme as WARGAMES ILLUSTRATED CRIMEA GAME. Myself and Bob Talbot will be running it and will have some mock up pages of FOUR EMPIRES for folks to see. If you want to throw a few dice please come along and join in!

If anyone was lucky enough to see Dave's Gallipoli table last year, it is of that size and quality.
Photos of the table to follow....

The table was used for a photoshoot for the next W.I. magazine, and it is awesome, so come along and have a look at it as well as a sneak preview of Barry's next tome.

We are going 1 better than that Greg! The game and an associated scenario with appear in glorious colour in FOUR EMPIRES which currently has 4 scenarios planned for inclusion.

Very excited about FE rules and looking forward to having a good old gander at them Barry.

Hi Barry

Good to meet you and thanks for the chat.

As promised just a gentle reminder for you to look into a possible deal for

anybody who needs to purchase R2E along with Four Empires.

Also let me know if I can be of any help in the future (no pressure)

All the best

Bob and I had a real blast this weekend. It all started in the bar of the high-brow Premier Inn, Barking and it was downlhill all the way after that
From some tart waking me up at 3am with the immortal words...
" You're not getting me in there, that room has been used and the bed is dirty" (no, she wasn't saying it to me but shouting it to her beau in the corridor outside) to Bob and I fighting with Mr Mike Hunt the under manager of the Menzies hotel Cambridge (about 1 hour ago) it has been fun all the way.
The game generated a huge amount of interest today and we are both hoarse talking. Steve, nice to meet you today and thanks for the offer of help. I will be in touch. I will also offer a deal on R2E + FOUR EMPIRES ... great idea, well done

For those interested, I will post other SALUTE related comments on different boards in the forum. There was certainly lots to talk about today!

Good to see: Andy Robinson, Phil Robinson and Dave, Ray & Postie (waaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!!!), Bob Miller, Siggo, Rob Walter & Nick from Eureka, Jonathan Marcus, Dale, my LoGW chums CSG, Peter Mc, Big Bill P,Adam H.. great to match face and forum name, Curt Campbell, Bill from Musketeer, DI and Andy T of course, Buddy from Triangle, MSK and Peter Fitzgerald, Henry Hyde, Aly M, Simon from SK, Julian and the new slimline Steve  and anyone else who I had a chance to grab a quick chat with.
Mr Bodley did a fantastic job on the terrain. Dave and Aly's stuff was beautiful and I am very pleased to hear the news of further and substantial Crimean sculpts!

I am sure Bob will add some comments especially about the bloke who wanted to measure the length of GWM gun barrels to check for accuracy....
POT HELMET MAN IS ALIVE AND WELL

I hope someone gave him a kick up the arse and told him to get a life?
Hope you had time to take lots of pics of the game?

The gun barrel measuring was the death blow of the conversation. It started with Aly and Dave's gun carriages being criticised for being the early pattern and not the crank handle version of 18... blah, blah.

I suspect they will withdraw the entire range and resculpt... I would

Sorry Dave, my kodak instamatic never got out the case the entire day despite humping it and tripod down to SALUTE. It was that kind of day!
