Hi Roy , particularly enjoyed your flag work. Are you gaming in Houston or up at the club College Station? I lived in Houston for five years and struggled to find much historical gaming until I met the guys up at Texas A&M. It was a great group.

What a superb blog. That's some impressive stuff you are creating there.

I've always had a soft spot for Montrose. My Granny used to claim she was a long-lost descendant of the great man. Whereas my Grandfather used to say she was "A daft auld mare!".

Thanks guys,

really enjoying the painting just now - though work is pushing the schedule further and further out.

Gaming scene in Houston is pretty diabolical for a city with the population of Scotland. I know a lot of folk with armies and an interest but there is no club scene. Our local shop which used to be great, turned into a GW frat-house and has just been bought out by some new guys who are only interested in getting the GW suppliers discount. That being said a couple of us are going to try and grab the bull by the horns - do some good demos at the local conventions and see where it goes from there......

Really enjoying the whole Civil War history just now. My heart goes with Montrose but by head supports the Covenant! But really it was just another bunch of politicians/toffs/relgious bigots screwing the local populace - so no change there then!!
