Question ECW & BLB ??

Post by yar68 » Tue Oct 01, 2013 7:35 am

Does anyone use BLB or BLB 2 for the ECW, and if you do what changes did you make?

Has been done Ray. Cavalry could probably be used unaltered. The Ireland modifications we make for different proportions of pikes in units would work perfectly.

not yet -still learning the rules
yesterday had first all infantry game with Turks raiding village
when happy we understand the rules would like to try them with my 30 Years War army
can't see why they wouldn't work
previous to buying BLB we used King of the Battlefield and took these back to TYW successfully

I was thinking the same Ray/Barry.

I'm presuming BLB rules would be fine for Montrose v Covenanters in Scotland & Battle of Benburb in Ireland between Irish Confederates & Covenanters.

Any thoughts? Any negatives? Tks.

No major probs in that theatre Paul I don't think. Using the Ireland adaptations to BLB for different proportions of pike in each unit would cover the close combat aspect of the larger number of pikes used in the ECW period.
