Poles - circa 1620 - 60

Guys,

Can anyone recommend a ruleset or two, with figures organised in elements, for warfare in the Baltic/Poland/Muscovy in the first half of the 17th century? Something simple, mind, and easily learned rather than studied and accessible for solo play.

I was thinking about the 1st Northern War being a project in the future. What about BLB, that's what I thought I might use.

If I could only find some more information about the 1st Northern War.

Wayne you could use BLB but some mods would have to be made for the higher number of pikes.

Clarence would be able to tell whether VWQ would fit.. again though, mods would have to be added for TYW era troop types.

I used a modified version of 1644 fro several years.. the guys I was gaming with then were heavily into Poles, Muscovites and Swedes.

The chap at Impetus is developing a set called "Baroque", so far it is only the basic version but is element based. The basic version is free. The ancient set is very good IMO.
There are lists on the forum for Poles and there may be a beta list available for download.
