OK, so after two years I've finally given in to having a section of the FORUM specifically set up to discuss painting techniques, display examples, show your latest projects and chat about this vital part of the hobby. Manufacturers please feel free to post up your sculpts, ask questions about what the gamers are after and generally promote your work.. no charge! Painters, please also feel free to post up your work for comment and critique. I can't promise the unreserved adulation characteristic of some other fora but I would hope you'd get constructive and measured comment!

Easter gives me the chance to paint the regiment"La Reine" and add to Louis XIV's army..or paint the front room.....I'm informed by the wife that this should be an easy decision! Any thoughts?

compromise...... paint the front room. (married, 32 years so you can listen).
Then do what I do, paint the figures when she's gone to bed

Yes, paint the room and you will have loads of time between the coats of paint drying to paint your figures.
or use fast drying paint and put the heating up full
it will be done in a day.
what of the long list to paint next ?

You could always apply my mates approach and convince the wife it's cheaper to get your figures pro-painted rather than get a professional painter in to paint the house.
Guess what, the new army was ready quicker than the hose was painted.
I think it only works once!

Thanks for the advice Will, but i face two problems there.
1. If i have a professionally painted unit on the table , units painted by my own hand will get an inferiority complex and mutiny!
2. I have a joint account!
So your dead right it would work only once!
