Here come the Cavalry.

OK, so after two years I've finally given in to having a section of the FORUM specifically set up to discuss painting techniques, display examples, show your latest projects and chat about this vital part of the hobby. Manufacturers please feel free to post up your sculpts, ask questions about what the gamers are after and generally promote your work.. no charge! Painters, please also feel free to post up your work for comment and critique. I can't promise the unreserved adulation characteristic of some other fora but I would hope you'd get constructive and measured comment!

They have a very nice medium green on them!

I believe we're waiting to see the units based . . . . BASE BASE BASE!

Ray,

Those have got to be the best painted black horses I have ever seen and, as you know, black is one of the most difficult hues to replicate.

These soldiers are clearly defective. You must post them to me immediately, lest they infect the rest of your collection ;-).

Cheekiness aside, that's some very nice work. Can we get the mix for the crossbelts? One hopes it is less daunting than the scarlet coats and yellow facings!

Ray,

These are absolutly stunning. I particularly like the one on the light black horse.

They really are beauties, I especially like the royal crest on the holsters.

Can I ask, why 80mm base size ? I thought that was just for generals and Brigadiers were on 50mm disc. Or is it just a case of whats more pleasing to the eye ?

Ray,

I'm about to start on an early period regiment of French dragoons (so you can try and chase them all over Spain) to go with my bicorned infantry and I need your advice. I see you base yours on 50mm x 50mm and damn good they look too.

I wish to use mainly charging horses with a couple of falling horses and maybe even rearing horses from Front Rank and I see that you mention that they are almost 60mm from nose to tail yet you don't have any problems when they rank up.

Should I stick with 50mm square or maybe go with 50mm x 60mm deep?

Your help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Jim
