OK, so after two years I've finally given in to having a section of the FORUM specifically set up to discuss painting techniques, display examples, show your latest projects and chat about this vital part of the hobby. Manufacturers please feel free to post up your sculpts, ask questions about what the gamers are after and generally promote your work.. no charge! Painters, please also feel free to post up your work for comment and critique. I can't promise the unreserved adulation characteristic of some other fora but I would hope you'd get constructive and measured comment!

Fantastic work Ray

It would be great you post some close ups and a couple of panoramic shots when they are based up.
Cheers,
Darrell.

Hi Churchill
Nice figures.
Do you support Cheltenham town FC then? Close to where I live. Did you used to live down this area sometime?

Hey Ray.. nice...
would be good to know what paints you use for these and which technique you use to get the particular shades of red:
Layer?
- Brush?
Wash?
Inks?
Walk us through a figure.. I think we'd all like that

Very nice Ray, did you paint the flags as well? I like the shading as it looks very authentic. Could you walk us through a flag too?

Hi Churchill, does your cousin wargame as well as we always like to welcome new people at our Cheltenham club.
I think that you should have put these figures on the Front Rank site. They are better, more detailed. Nice to see how peoples painting styles change.
Do you do commissions?

Nice paint job. Pity it was not Ray who painted them. Infact it is a fellow club member of mine called Bob Lorton.
After buying some figures from Bob off Ebay Ray commissioned Bob to do the last 10 regiments for his British army.
Now I would not have noticed any of this had it not benn for two thing. 1: I happened to be at Bob's house when he was taking some photos that he was going to send to Ray and 2: I recognise Bob's basing style.
When I saw the units on the forum I contacted Bob and was asked not to say anything until the commission had been finished. That has been done.
A couple of things Bob is Cheltenham Town supporter hence the supporters programme in a few of the photos. (bet Ray does not have a copy!)
Bob met Ray and pointed out to him that Bob knows me and this should have given him some idea as to what the future would hold.
I have also hinted on occasion that I knew Ray had not painted them but Ray just blundered on making up lie after lie to try to cover his tracks.
Also placing a unit in a painting competition and taking the prize takes the biscuit. I own a few armies that Bob has painted (mainly 40K) and I have never allowed them to be entered as painted by me.
Why am I doing this and not Bob, because I asked to do it I have sat on this for a number of months now and at last have the chance to tell the truth. Thats it now the whole world gets to read it.
