1600-1750 'CROFTERS ABODES' - New Range from Adrian's Walls

OK, so after two years I've finally given in to having a section of the FORUM specifically set up to discuss painting techniques, display examples, show your latest projects and chat about this vital part of the hobby. Manufacturers please feel free to post up your sculpts, ask questions about what the gamers are after and generally promote your work.. no charge! Painters, please also feel free to post up your work for comment and critique. I can't promise the unreserved adulation characteristic of some other fora but I would hope you'd get constructive and measured comment!

1600-1750 'CROFTERS ABODES' - New Range from Adrian's Walls

Post by Blucher » Tue Apr 08, 2014 5:18 pm

Gents

We've just finished the moulds for our new 1600 - 1750 28mm Buildings Range. These will be out in the next couple of weeks - pre-painted to collectors standard, as usual.

Our initial offerings consist of a small hovel, a larger chiefs/elders hovel and 3ft of walling which is characterful and features un-even and dilapidated sections/gate etc.

They have been designed to suit ECW onwards and would look great for Scottish and Irish Campaigns.....

Pictures will be added shortly.

I've just been on youtube to see all the vids. Very nice indeed. Where did you get the "music" for them? Some of it is seriously creepy! :P

Paul

Thanks for the nice comments about the vids in the showcase section of the site.

The music is all composed by my IT Dept (...my brother...!) who likes to 'mix music' in his spare time....... he tries to get it themed to the particular ranges...his choices...not always mine!

Gents

We've just finished preparing the 'demo pieces' of these buildings - and they will be on display at Salute. Our ranges will be on the Wargames Emporium Trade Stand - TC13.

We have a Show Offer on any pre-orders on this range (which is officially out on 22nd April) - so if you are at Salute - pop along and have a look.

I will be attaching some pictures of these next week anyway.

We also have a new look website - please feel free to take a look.

....pictures as promised of....The Crofter's Hamlet

These are officially released after Easter.

We were taking 'pre-orders' on these at Salute with a 10% discount on any of the item codes up to the end of April. As a 'new range launch offer' we are happy to offer the same to any LoA registered members.

From 1st May (onwards) these buildings can be seen on the Adrian's Walls section on the Wargames Emporium stand at any of the numourous shows they are attending this year (and Partizan 1 & 2 that we are attending as Adrian's Walls ourselves).

In the photos they are shown in an Irish/Scottish 1690's setting with Barry's beautiful Warfare Miniatures in attendence - but quite a few people were ordering them with ECW settings in mind.

They come fully pre-painted (as seen) and are in high quility resin, with removable roofs. They are priced at:

£30 for the small hovel
£40 for the larger cottage
£30 for 3ft + of stone walling pack (9 pieces of various sections)
or £90 for the whole hamlet (1 each of the above)

If interested, please just contact me.

These are great! They will cover a very wide period too.

Thanks Paul.

Yes, they will cover a large period of conflicts. The walls are quite 'generic' and will cover an even larger period (even up to modern times).

Next week we have a spanned bridge coming out. It is in the same stonework as the walls and can be a stand alone piece or the walling can be butted up to it to form an impressive 'avenue'.

The bridge will come in its usual pre-painted status and we will also be using it on our 'bridged terrain tile' - already in-situ on a 2 x 2 terrain tile with a road/river combo.

More piccies next week.....

....spanned bridge out of the painting studio today - and we are really pleased with it....

We have it scaled so that you can get 70mm wide bases on it (especially with Barry's basing in mind!) - yet the overall size and detail looks perfectly architecturally accurate overall. Suitable for most periods from medieval onwards.

...pictures to be added to this thread next week (when our photographer returns from his Easter Hols...).
