Hello Barry

May we have an update on how the production of V2 is going. Will there be a teaser and have you introduced any new scenarios?

Thanks
Edward

Edward,

lots of info dotted on various posts in this section and the Period section. End January looks likely because of late additions on photography and new figures. The sample game included is based on Steenkirke.. It is a scenario + play example.

Ray, Barry and myself were supposed to fight the demo game for the rules today, unfortunately my central heating broke down yesterday and we could only get an engineer this afternoon so had to cancel the game but trying to pencil it in for two weeks time.

the new book will have 6 pages of infantry uniform painting guides for the following nationalities:

French
Jacobite Irish & French in Ireland
English
Dutch
Danish
Mixed (including Scots, Prussians etc)

These will be completed by some very well known and respected brushmen (I know a few of them you see!). There will also be a few
'how to paint a figure my way guides' by some of said 00Meisters... figures winging their way to the artists tomorrow I believe.

CH and I had a War Conference last night and now that the US weather is cutting him some slack and he doesn't have to reinstate the entire US Communications network on his own  we think towards the end of Jan all the work on the book will be about done.

Hope that is detailed enough for all of you patient 'Jobs' out there! (Biblical reference  )

The six pages of uniforms painting is a great adition to the book and the look of the sample pages is wonderful. I expect to buy it soon, with the Warfare Miniatures models :D

Besides, I would like to know if you are going to sell this rulebook in PDF format.

Cheers,
Juan

The continuing story of Billy Bunter's postal order

Post by barr7430 » Mon Feb 14, 2011 7:44 am

Folks,

Clarence has just sent me a pdf of BLB2 currently standing at 100 pages. All that requires finishing now:

1. 5-8 replacement photographs
2. The final uniform gallery guides
3. Cover
4. Proof reading

All of the above is currently in hand.

Not long to go...

Was it sent out for 'blind playtesting' and feedback this time?

Getting very close, guys...

All of the photography is finished. I am in (hopefully) the final editing stages, correcting mistakes, keeping an eye on text conventions (orders always presented in ALL CAPS, etc.), punctuation, etc.

We really are hoping to send this to the printer in a few weeks, but as always we want to try and make sure the book is as good as we can make it. Hopefully it will be worth the wait. Trust me, NO ONE is more anxious to see this go out than we are!

Didn';t do blind playtesting Bryce.. never actually thought about it to be honest

The playtest groups were fairly diverse and numerous. 5 groups about 20 players. Plus Clarence and I. Several of the new mechanincs are R2E derivatives and so are well tested. I think it hangs together very well.. but then again I WOULD say that
