I have absolutely no problem with that in fact, I would welcome it. I think it is important that gamers share their views, both positive and negative(if there is some of that).
There are significant differences between 1st and 2nd editions. These are not just cosmetic. The fundamental differences lie in troop classification, formation, movement, close combat and morale.
Subtle differences appear in Shooting and CC factors and orders.
Additions come from FIBUA, Optional rules and the inclusion of Eastern European and North Amercian variants.
The 2nd edition took longer than the first edition to write and play test despite the fact that it is firmly rooted and obviously an evolution of, the 1st edition. I know some players will 'hark back' to 1st edition.. that always happens with any rule set but let's see. I feel it is even more period nauanced now but the gamers are the arbiters not I...
