Well, where do you start?
One word sums up this weekender for me:
INTENSE
We had 14 players on Day 1 and 12 on Day 2. We had action from T1 and we played 0800 to 1330 of 7th September 1812.
The French burned 44 battalions ( 24,000 infantry) and 14 cavalry regiments (7,000), deploying the equivalent of 130 guns to storm through a Russian defence that was as watertight as a w-e-t suit.
The Russians reached new heights of stoicism with regiments being cut down to the last man in the Fleches and on the open field rather than surrender.
We saw 2 redoubts change hands 5 (yes that's right) times another 4 times and another twice. The Raevski was stormed by 1130 after being pounded into a pile of earth by 30 minutes bombardment from 100 12pdrs!
By 1330 the Russians were charging it with Dragoons and had managed to get in to contest it.
We used an 'anti christ' mortar to bombard a holy icon from a range of 1 km and watched the General of the Tzar's Cuirassier Division and a Royal Prince charge to their deaths on the bayonets of the 'Terrible' 57th' whose 2nd battlaion fought to the last man routing the Lifeguard and Empress Cuirassiers.
We had hidden trenches, wolf pits, Priests and Sinners and all the details will appear soon in pctures and words.
For an immediate look go here:

where you won't find any information about how General of Cuirassiers Imrie started the genocide of the Romanov's 105 years early
Great weekend and I think we all need a lie down now.
Some other blogs from the guys will show more detail and hopefully they will post links here
More soon..
Thanks to Dave O'B and DI as always!
