Looking forward to this, although I have used up my store of brownie points for the forseeable future though

Apparently arriving at 8pm Friday, and leaving about 7.30am Saturday to get back Sunday night and then leave at 6am Monday is frowned upon :o

Although the following weekend when she disappears for a shopping trip to London with her girlfriends is perfectly ok.

Anyway, when is it the peninsulars turn? :)

What is the start time on Saturday?

I seem to remember 9 when I asked Dave at Claymore, but the 6 pints in the afternoon have clouded my memory somewhat :D

If you can make it for about 9 that would be great as we usually do the initial briefing then but if you are going to be late that would be ok, we would just go ahead with the game and you would quickly catch up plus it's not as if we need to explain any of the rules to you.

He's just trying to trick you Bill... he'll now do the briefing at 8am! He's like that, I've been trying to tell people for years but he hides behind the mild mannered mask of respectability.... it is a complete sham!

Barry, remember to take your camera...please and David O don't be so hard on Jim with your events
Ray.
Unfortunately Jim can't make the weekend so the bears in the woods will have to wait for another time.

Awesome weekend, thanks guys had a great time. The ups and downs during the game and the banter was superb.

Looking forward to the next one.

Battle of Mockern, 3 8x6 tables with action on all of them for most of the time, and it did mirror history, with an Allied win.

Unfortunately I was on the French side, but using the Italians. The ice cream sellers did really well though, far beyond most peoples(including my own) expectations.

Knackered and happy.

We have Dave to thank for finding Mockern... a little obscure but wonderfully interesting (a bit like Dave really! 8) )

I think the scenario was very balanced and the fact that we played for points based objectives rather than annihiliation made the game even more exciting.
I think it was by far the most good natured of all the events run so far and the group had perfect chemistry. It was very good to see some real friendships developing over the weekend.

The banter was rather top drawer and I look forward to seeing some of the more inventive ideas floated over the weekend taking root.

Leafing through my notes I found several excellent suggestions for future ideas. The acorns are planted chaps.. let's see what blossoms!

Well deserved win for the bold Russians despite Jim claiming that Wittgenstein bloke was a bit of a git! Hope you chaps all remember the way around the S P A M filter if you want to share enlightenment from your Profanosaurus's..

Till the next one!

Had a great time. Really interesting scenario.

Well done to Adrian and the Russian players, commiseration to my Gallant French and Italian Brigade Commanders.Banter was outstanding.

Loads of inventive use of exploitation moves, very fluid all over the battlefield, excellent terrain and scenery. Stoic defence line held by the Italians( Bill), Great use of our limited cavalry by Bob and Bill( The other one) fighting off those flanking Russians.

Spectacular counterattack by Kieran on the Right Flank with his inexperienced Brigade seeing off Mr Imrie's vastly superior Grenadier Brigade( Author's poetic licence here somewhat) , albeit temporarily.

Highlights of the weekend for me
Tam Nish's INability to NOT kill enemy Divisional and Brigade Commanders
Jim Wallace's cavalry charges and breaking of French Squares
Kieran's face when falling victim of one Mr O'Briens dastardly events
The "Bermuda Triangle" tile that had the ability to make Russian units seemingly disappear off the table if they moved onto it all weekend( Especially Adrian's!!!)
The destruction or rout of every Russian Artillery unit on the table
Andy and Barry's photographs.

Great catching up with friends again and making some new ones too

Many Thanks to everyone for making it a great weekend!!!!

Cheers

Gerry
