A lot of sawing Jim

I didn't feel too lucky as it took me about 2 hours of solid cutting with small hacksaws to take the middle sections out of three of the buildings. Then remodelling the gaps back to some semblance of seamlessness followed by mounted and painting. Probably about a 9 hour job in tital but workth it i think.
It is still about twice the ground area it should be but much more manageable on the table top and not too dominant.
My anally fixated brain is caused great distress by scale inaccuracies!!

Barry,

It must be thirty-seven years since I last took part in a large multiplayer game. I was living in Chorlton---Hardy at the time and I believe the club was in Stockport. The game was the second day at Gettysburg and I cannot even remember the rules we were using so you can appreciate how much I am looking forward to this.

I have put on some large games at my house when I lived in Papua New Guinea but, I believe I was the only wargamer in that country, or at least the only one who had figures.

UPDATE FOR PLAYERS:

Currently we are finalising the troops and commands for the game gents.
So far looks like:

FRENCH
Jim
Bob
Chris

ALLIES
Peter
Ray
Paul

Two further players still to confirm and Dave and I umpiring, playing and generally interfering!

The formations used will extend beyond D'Erlon's I Corps for the French and the Allies will have elements of three different Corps. Noone will command less than a Division and it looks likely that each player may get two Divisions.

There will be more updates before the kick off!

Jim, you'll be pleased to know that Chris, one of your other commanders had his first game tonight so he's now got a better idea of how the rules work but taking part in a large 5 a side game probably wasn't the best way to pick up the rules. The game seemed to flow quite well considering only 3 of the players had some experience of playtesting the rules and their last game was about a year ago.

Dave,

I am now on my fifth reading of the rules; I sit at the kitchen table with a box of dominoes for troops and practise various movement, fire and melee combinations to the extent that I may even field a battalion of dominoes when I get up to Lundin Links.

It's coming together nicely but, the only problem is that I may have picked up some misconceptions along the way such as the ones you have been kind enough to help me with.

They say that if you play with yourself too much you can go blind.

many thanks to Dave and the guys at the Edinburgh club Ian Jack Donald John Dex and Olivi'a (spelling) for their patience and help with my first game

Really enjoyed the games and the flow of the rules and looking forward to lunching in Brussels. It really is a case with these rules of trying them out, as I had not been able to grasp some of the finer point just on reading them.
