My new Jaocbite unit and a stand from the Earl of Baths. Soon to be seen at Derby. Hopefully these will provide some inspiration for those who are about to embark on the journey....

It has been a very good idea, Barry, to put pictures of your units; you are providing a lot of inspiration (and an uniform guide at the same time :D ). Your painting is extraordinary.

Cheers,

Juan

Are you taking the piss?

I made it up.. I could call them Seamus O'Bog Trotter's Jacobite Rabble OR Lord O'Brien's Heroes & Sons of Erin depending on the particular bent of the observer.
They will serve nobly in the cause of James and Ireland and perplex the scholarly with their arcane symbolism which will never appear in anyone's history books! The design is from a TATTOO ART website

Nice though eh?

Very nice indeed. They definitely look at ease - positively brimming with it.

Smarten up you lot, don't you know there's a war on?

Andy

Rob,

I didn't 'totally tricorne' but look at front row centre(to the right of the flag) and back row second right. I have shaped both of these hat brims from totally flat to: front guy, turned up on 3 sides, back guy turned up at front.. no tools used.. just pressed the edge of the brim against a hard surface. Front guy is nearest a tricorne and with a little more pressure it would have been there...

Finished the Earl of Bath's Regiment now and very pleased with it too. Not had time to photograph it but might get a quick shot off tomorrow before I go on my travels. Bob has done the Coldstream Guards and Regiment Conde, I will have the Danish Footguards and Regiment Funen available to view soon also and those will quickly be followed by the Brunswick Celle Regiment Holle. It's building!

Yes, more snapshots, if only to lure us poor unsuspecting wargamers into your evil painting contest clutches!

A Bath?! Oh NOOOOO!!!

Seriously though, very nice looking unit, it's good to break up all the red and grey coated regiments with this one.

Nice work!

I thought that grenadiers were always stationed on the right of the regiment, unless they were converged off elsewhere? Or were they split between both flanks?

Those look...splashing!

Oh. My sides. They seem to have split.

Seriously, more excellent work.
