Clothes packed, rules, dice - check
Irn bru & paracetemol -check
Realising that the stupid sodding ticket machine at the train station hasn't printed out all your tickets - priceless.

I can forsee a futile argument with train staff in my future tomorrow.

So, now sitting on the 1148 Derby to St Pancras en route to Dusseldorf. Have had to leave our BAUTZEN BASH a few hours early and that was a real shame for me. After a grinding Day1 and a real struggle to push the Russian/Prussian Army back from Bautzen, Mauschwitz and the river, the French came out fighting on Day 2 with super exploitation attacks and a Corps strength assault on the Prussian earthworks on the heights by turn 2!
How did Glenn and Alan get on Gerry???????????

Cavalry buzzing all over the table. Mixed results with that... some great performances from French Light Cavalry, Cossacks riding down French Horse Artillery, Prussian Kurassier riding down French lancers, Gerry and Alan winding each other up...... the usual stuff.

I have taken some good pix and will email an album to all players (and DOB! 8) ).

Ade's terrain looked fantastic.

The French fought with 62 battalions on Day 1, the Russian and Prussians with about 54. A well executed defence with the advantage to the Allies.Looking forward to learning the outcome of Day2 and the battle as a whole.. so someone please tell me!

Gunter's talk on the Saxon Army was great. Fantastic new units from Bob... Illyrians, French Naval, Italian, Neapolitan... wow!

Banter great.....
Venue.. a real find!
Food good and the cold shower on Saturday morning got us all fresh for the fight.

Great to see all you chaps from near and far.

Lookog forward to doing it all again soon!

Hi All
I commanded Italians on both days, they fought like heros before going home to mama for their tea.
Lots of lovely figures and WOW terrain, many thanks to all for a great weekend, I am home now very tired and ready for a hot bath .
Many thanks again.

I bet Napoleon would have loved an iphone

Just had the results..... A whanging victory to the French with a total Prussian collapse and the Russians pretty much fought to a standstill.. or so the propoganda runs.......

It was apparently all down to Gunter's cuirassier division and the Guard cavalry... can that be true?

Happy to report the Silesians/Brandenburgers regained the redoubts having been temporarily ejected from them.

Would have stayed there except the French went running to " daddy" and Napoleon decided to put in a personal appearance so it was time to go

Oh, and Alan didn't make it off the table......killed stony dead by a musket shot leading his division in a last desperate gambled assault :D :D :D

Thanks to all for a great weekend again, especially the new chaps who seemed to take to the rules like ducks to water.

Special mention for Gunter for his talk on the Saxon army, very interesting and eye opening.

Many thanks to Barry, Ade, and Bob for a cracking game, and very challenging scenarios.

Cheers
