Well the Warfare Miniatures unit count is going up rapidly for Derby... looks like we are likely to have 40 units of infantry and between 8 and 10 units of Cavalry (multi squadron). I have so far nearly managed to finish 3 cavalry units.
Really looking forward to seeing how this all looks. The scenario is set, the terrain is being built and the table is fairly massive. Many surprises to come and visually I think it will be a real feast... cameras at the ready and I think I feel an article coming on! (so get yer hair cut for the pictures chaps!)

Dear Friends,

as one of the 'far off' attendies all travel preparations are done.

To my good Friend Bob:
My arrivel time will be 14.45h from Duesseldorf, a Lufthansa flight as far as I know. I will let you know if something changes.

For all which I didn't have had the honor to meet last time in Derby I will be recognized very easy as I will wear something which will identfy myself and show what is near to my heart.

Until then,

Günter

A call to arms Gentlemen...

The forces of 3 Kings are gathering like the war clouds over the Emerald Isle. I will be posting some 'alternative history' (but not too alternative!) for you to get into the mood of the weekend and begin to settle into your roles as 17th Century officers, gentlemen and perhaps scoundrels!

The first piece of information is to take stock of available troops..

I know many of you have been painting Warfare Miniatures like crazy and want them to take the field so I am compiling an inventory of those units mustering for Derby.

Toggy I know has at least:

Prinds George
Prinds Frederik
Prinds Christian
Dronningens
Coldstream Guards
John Hanmer's Regiment
Du Cambon
Le Caillemotte
De Meloniere
Zurlauben #1
1 heavy gun
Maxwell's Dragoons
Lord Bellew's Regiment

but I suspect I have missed at least 1 regiment painted by Andy T... so over to you Bob for anything I have missed.

Paul Mc has kindly promised to subsidize us with
Brewer's Regiment
Kirke's Regiment
A Blue coated Brandenburg Regiment (who will dep as someone else)
A positional gun in English red

Ade has recruited 2 as yet unnamed Jacobite regiments.. if they have flags it would be good to know which

Gerry has recruited I think:
Dillons Regiment and perhaps 1 other but unsure at this point

Dave O'Brien is kindly lending:
The Lord Antrim's Regiment
Clanrickarde's Regiment
Lutterell's Horse
Lutterell's Dragoons (I think)

Andy T may well be painting something else (and he is rather good at it too!)

I will personally be bringing a further 30+ battalions and more Horse than you can shake a stick at...

It may be though that we could call on a few more recruits from
Dave O Brien's collection or the enormous Wallace hordes of border folk.

If Jim and Dave are willing, a wee list of available stuff wuld help even if we don't necessarily need to draw from it.

Really looking forward to this one, it will be very different I think!

Barry

.......my original despatch must have been 'waylaid'.....my recruits for Derby have 'gone over' to William......:

Earl of Drogheda Battalion
Nassau Battalion
2 Heavy Guns (Dutch) with emplacements
2 Battalion guns (Dutch)
Various command vignettes

....plus a 'few bits scenery'......!!

Barry,
Don't forget Van Graben's regiment, they're just waiting to be based ready for Partizan.
