I agree, whole-heartedly. This book should be owned by anyone who is interested in wargaming the GNW. It it is not a narrative history of the war, but it contains all most people will need concerning, organization, recruitment, weapons, uniforms, flags, tactics, etc. Lots of info that I, at least, had never heard of. For example, many dragoon regiments had a company of lancers; the Guards infantry regiments from about 1707 until 1713 were mounted and equipped like dragoons, but still fought on foot; the apparently mounted Moscow Dragoons fired off 13,337 fusil balls at the battle of Poltava, or roughly 17 per man; and much, much more.

Much here for Barry to ponder as he drafts the GNW supplement to BLB3!

couldn't agree more, thinking about do lancer companies for dragoon regiments, what intrigued me was the issue and use/ none use of pikes within regts, definitely food for thought
