Couldnt agree with you more Bob. After all, the Perrys have close connections with GW and theyre no daft - they will have had time to consider the market, think about GWs mistakes and look at the inevitably changing demograph (or to paraphrase your excellent observation - Plastics, fantasy, girls and beer, metal, plastics!), and come up with an entry level product.
I bought boxes of the ACW, but not for me, as a project for Patrick ( my wee lad for those who dont know) - its got everything he needs to get started. Plus hes using my foundry system paints and is already as good as some adults. Watch this space for my "Cheap painting services" advert.
The Frenchies look great, and more variety in a box than most ranges.
So its outstanding.
I dont think there should be too much damage to plastics, once painted and varnished - its the weight of metal that makes paint chip and thinks break off. Im not even worried about the bayonets - I figure if its a hard enough jolt to break a plastic bayonet, it would do for a metal one as well.
GdB is what I am painting for just now, and this is great news for that.
A box of Brits would be the business.
Vex me Not, or I will have you dragged awhile....
