Flags are by the Flagdude. £4 each roughly, but come on the flagstaff, with the cravats/finials as appropriate, already painted.
And thats a bonus for me

Apart from the 1st 3 battalions I painted, all my flags are from Flagdude.

Just finished these, the 11th Cav. If you look closely you can see they have sky blue collars with red piping as opposed to white with white piping for the 1st posted earlier. Thats pretty much the only difference between all the cavalry regiments, different collar/piping. I think the only units to take the field were the 1st, 6th, 11th and 12th.





And D'Urbans Brigade as it would have been at Salamanca, in 1:20. The 12th Cavalry were assigned as the baggage guards during the battle.




Next up will be the Portuguese 9th Infantry, the first of Powers brigade, 3rd Division.

And as threatened previously, the 1st battalion 9th Portuguese infantry. Slightly smaller battalions than the previous Portuguese units, as Powers brigade was some 400 men or so smaller than Rezendes brigade overall.

All Victrix figures except the drummer, who is Frontrank.
Only 4 more battalions to go before the 9th of December

I reckon I know why the figures look shiny, its the flash from the camera. These guys have had 2 coats of matt varnish, and look pretty flat to the mk1 eye, but the camera makes them look glossed

You mentioned that the flags are from Rick aka Flagdude. Are they common 25mm or a larger size like 40mm or so?

The flags are 25mm scale, each infantry colour is roughly 40mm square.

the flash thing finally makes sense. I wondered what you were on about previously when you were talking about it taking several coats of varnsh to take away the shine - I've always found 1 of Vallejo's matt varnish to be enough.

So you'll just have to switch off the flash and rely on the bountiful volumes of natural light that occur in Motherwell. In October. At 2 in the morning

Next installment

2nd Battalion of the 9th Portuguese. The 2nd Battalion of the 21st Portuguese is also finished but needs basing, and the 1st battalion of the 21st is underway. So once they are finished its the 12th Cacadores remaining before the weekend game at ludkins. Should be a breeze, only 48 figures to paint in the next 5 weeks

Took the following pictures outside to avoid the flash and lighting issues, but it was somewhat overcast.

Looking forward to the weekend too. First time my troops will have been used in anger. And as we know they will all run away as it'll be there first outing

One of the things I'll be looking forward to is relaxing my painting schedule

As to the weekend itself, I probably wont be up on the Friday evening till about 9.30 after putting the little one to bed.

Latest installment, the Portuguese 21st Infantry Regiment. Pictured the 2 battalions together for quickness to take advantage of a break in the rain,
the joys of living in Scotland

To finish off Powers brigade I only have the 12th Cacadores remaining, and 8 are painted and a further 6 are underway, so they should be ok for the 9th. Deadlines are a great motivator
