Thank you Gentlemen
I no longer use flexible bases (they only used to flex a little ... but it was a definite flex!
) The whole flexing thing was aggravated by my conversion to magnetising my bases where the act of removing the bases from storage encouraged the alleged flexing.
I have used Polyfilla, but found it not as nice to work with as the grout. Just my opinion. I know of others that use it quite happily. The grout was great for sculpting the base.
I'm currently back to concocting a brew of PVA (white wood glue), a sawdust based flock and various small texturing stones. It's ok, but there's always the worrying rumours of the PVA eating into the metal!
Not that I, or any of my accomplices having noticed it as yet.
I might give the grout another go on my sturdy non flexing litko bases. If only I hadn't thrown out the precoloured brown grout!!
Salute
