Wondered whether anyone had read this very interesting little book about the model maker(Capt Siborne) whose meticulous research contradicted Wellington's official memoir of the battle - fascinating read, good pics etc.
I think the book's subject matter is rather controversial even today as many heavyweight 'names' have based their own work on contra-views to that of Hofschroer & Siborne. I got a subtext from some of the Jacket testimonials which implied that people had to acknowledge the 'weight' of the book but in a rather defensive way!

Square 612, what are your views on the use of pyramidal cannonballs and rubber bayonets and the influence they may have had in Napoleon's 14th century campaign in Manchuria  ?
