Help with 1806 Saxon Flags

Post by 18th Century Guy » Fri Nov 06, 2015 9:18 pm

I know I've asked this question before but I cannot find the notes. Can someone point me to a location that has good color photos/drawings of the 1806 Saxon flags for both infantry and cavalry?

Thanks in advance.

I believe you looking for something like that?

„Macht Euch Euren Dregg alleene“

"Sort your filth out by yourself!" The King of Saxony Friedrich August III., at his abdication 1918, referred to the quarrels in the parliament and the squabbling within the provisional government.

Try this:
http://www.warflag.com/napflags/flaghtml/saxindx.htm
With Gen'l Custer Down in Mexico: Yes, one of the goals is to see how many times one can get him killed.

Great Find Rob!

But in both case please be aware that the Colors are shown the wrong way around because

The Cipher was written from left to right towards the flagstaff and the coat of arms away from the flagstaff. It is the same error as GMB did once until he got corrected.

Best,

Günter

So does that mean that the two images need to be switched to opposite sides? That way the cipher would be facing the staff.

Do I have that correct?
