all,
Having some time for research with the force isolation &c, I wanted to ask about the Krassow brother during the late 17th and early 18th centuries,
We have
Ernst Detlof von Krassow (1660-23 Jan 1714). An officer in Swedish service, ultimately reaching the rank of lieutenant-general. The German wiki (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ernst_Detlof_von_Krassow) is pretty ok, detailing is command of a Swedish regiment in Dutch service during the NYW, and his commands during the GNW.
Adam Philipp von Krassow (5 May 1664-2 Feb 1736). He seems to have been in service of Mecklenburg-Schwerin after the NYW; before he served in his brother's regiment. The German wiki (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_Philipp_von_Krassow) lists his carrier.
My question: during the WSS, Mecklenburg provided two regiments of foot as subsidy troops for the Dutch army (Buchwald and Schwerin)
For the second regiment, the colonels (inhabers) were are follows:
von Schwerin
von Uffeln (from 1704)
von Krassow (from 1708)
I am trying to identify which of the brother. 'Het Staatsche Leger' (the Dutch history on the Dutch States army) mentions Ernst Detlof.
From the biographies this doesn't make sense, and I tend to believe Adam Philipp was the colonel. Some resources, unfortunately, only mention 'Krassow' without any name.
I hope someone on this forum has some further insights.
kind regards, WIenand
