Yes, but only if Dave is his adversary

These scenarios were pitching two fairly conventional types of force against each other. Nothing too much can be inferred from force composition as so much depends on the run of the dice. The Moorish forces were mostly cavalry. In the third scenario the Engish force had 3 cavary units and one large infantry unit. The characters proved very useful. A Recruuit unit of musketeers with a sergeant and drummer attached proved very handy. Two volleys with a releoad card in between emptied 13 saddles at extreme range in game 3.

My hero figure was a non event, the Moorish Hero figure with his armour saves fought again and again and survived several wounds.

The secret to these games and the rules in general is to construct the mission based scenarios and avoid simply thinking about killing off everyone on the other side which is too mechanical and predictable.

Clarence, Dave and I are trying currently to produce a wide range of scenario shapes which allow for the maximum number of game types to be generated for players.

The main thing on the figures front is that for a particular faction the maximum number of figures you would every need to cover EVERY possible option is probably:

51 infantry
25 cavalry
7-8 characters

Average force sizes more likely to be:

30 infantry or
21 cavalry (or mix of above)
5 character/personality models

He hasn't won a single game against me using the rules but the games have been such fun it doesn't matter who wins.
The rules are firming up nicely and we only had a couple of queries which mainly came about because of unusual situations. What was interesting was how quickly Paul picked up the rules having never even read them before.

As Barry mentioned the first two games were small standard battles with each faction having four units a side whereas in the 3rd game I wanted to try something different. In the 3rd game which was a rescue the captives the rescue force has four units all of which start on table whereas the opponents have 6 units but only start with 2 units on table and a random card is added after the end of turn move. The advantage should have been in favour of the attackers at first but unfortunately for Barry the end of turn card seemed to turn up very quickly each move which meant that more and more Moors kept turning up. Because Paul took a Scout as one of his characters the two Moorish infantry units were allowed to be set up in postion and it wasn't until after the game had started that I realised he had too many characters on the table at the start of the game so I would probably alter this when fighting this again but the biggest problem was Barry's dice rolling
Overall I was happy with the way the game worked and the tables could be turned with the Moors having to rescue a captive Emir or the game could easily be set in a European context.
Cheers

Barry,
Thank you for the break down of the figures needed. Arofan and I are painting up two factions right now, hope to get a game in soon. Will post w/pics once we get rolling.

Look forward to that Greg, we are now at the stage of needing objective input from gamers like yourself.

Cultists for me, 'The Wild Hunt'...

Although I am allowing them the option of your favourite wench, the 'Doxy'!

A combination of semi-outlaws with a necromancer - not sure who is using who...

Barry, the Moorish figure sniping English musketeers with his sling - who manufactures him?
With Gen'l Custer Down in Mexico: Yes, one of the goals is to see how many times one can get him killed.
