Thanks Ray, I'd love to be able to help, but my technical knowhow is pre-pike and shot. I know how a bow works, if that helps?

Best,

Mark

Ray

you can only edit pdf's if you have the full Adobe Acrobat or similar 3rd party, not just the free Adobe reader.

Ctl-alt-D to delete a range of pages or F1 for help.

Great topic! I have recently begun to paint 28mm WSS after a 15 year hiatus - I have been doing SYW in 15mm for many years - but hard to keep up with aging eyes and I have always been interested in the WSS.

Ray, your figures are inspirational! I began in the same way you did - English reg'ts for Blenheim - I wish found this site before I began painting. I am just starting the French after completing a small force of Allies (Prussians & English - 8 reg'ts of foot and 4 of horse)... Anyway, as an isolated WSS gamer (no one in my area that I am aware of for this period) I have really enjoyed the posts and learned quite a bit here - thank you all!

Ray complimenta for the collection and thank you for the information provided. I read that you have some figurers painted by Peter Walker. i have some figures painted.... last century by a painter with same name, but after moving i lost contacts. If i'm not wrong it was "the small back room" or something like that. Probably Now he has an internet contact. Can you please provide to me a contact for him? I was VERY happy for his works and a friend of mine asked his address/telephone but I lost them (no internet at that time). I take the opportunity to send best season greetings to all!

Hi Ray,

This is an inspiring thread and one that will undoubtedly damage my bank balance

I like the basing size you've chosen and read that you use 50x50 for infantry bases, but are your horse on 60x50?

Thanks for the prompt response Ray.

Yes, I'm also using Front Rank (for the Brits and Danes at least). I started an Almansa project about ten years ago using Age of Reason rules, but I stalled. So each unit needs to grow by an extra 30%, be rebased, and, following my move here to Denmark and a desire to paint some Danes, Blenheim seems a more attractive proposition.

Happy New Year to you and yours :D

Ray,

Sounds about right - I am 50 now and my eyes took a steep dive about 2 years ago - thank goodness for jeweler's goggles! I had been using Foundry, but have increasingly gone to Front Rank - for all of the reasons you state. I have not settled on a set of rules (have used Koenig Krieg (there is an old WSS mod for 1st edition, Age of Reason, looked at Maurice, Ga Pa and several others)- waiting for my copy of BLB2 to arrive - I hope that it will fit the bill.

I have been mounting my figures on 2x2 inch bases - very close to your 50mm x 50mm - but only 4 figures to a base, 16 figs to a reg't. (in large part for reasons of economy). I have just decided to mount the French on 2x3 bases - 6 figs to a base, 3 deep - 18 figs to a reg't (just to fill the bases) - thus the French will be 3 bases wide vs 4 bases wide for the Allies (except for Austrians and other old-fashioned types). I think this will look great and reflect the difference in frontage between the armies well...
