Wargaming guide to 1685-1715

Post by barr7430 » Mon Jul 18, 2005 12:45 pm

I have finally decided to bite the bullet and have a guide to the above period published. Already investigating possible routes to market. Plan is to have it full colour glossy with lots of pics.

Much of the subject matter is ready now. Keep you all posted

1st dibs on being marketing agent 8) in US
Great idea publishing a guide will create more interest in a much overlooked period by wargamers in general.

Hi. I have only played a couple of games with these rules, and I am a little unsure as to the cavalry casualities, it seems to be rather extreame, in that cavalry tend to be totally wiping each other out. I am only a beginner in this period, but I do feel the cavalry casualities are a little extreame. Is this me not understanding something about the nature of cavalry battles, or is it the rules :?

I guess it's all a matter of opinion really. The system works pretty well and I think for large scale wargames any mechanisms should be decisive. Remember that casualties in wargaming are invariably a measure of fighting effectiveness and not of fatalities

Hi,

I'm getting more and more interested in this period, but a guide should be really what I'm looking for. I know almost nothing of the period. I bought some of the Louis XIV miniatures from Venexia some time ago, and just started painting. Plan is to use the ULB rules. When and/or where will this guide be for sale?

Thanks,

Wim,

I just registered, so it's easier for me to follow up things.

The ULB rules look very promising. I hope to start using them soon. (when I got enough painted miniatures)
