League Of Augsburg - Fighting Talk

Hi All
Can anyone tell me if British, or for that matter, any other nations troops, have pockets on their waistcoat around 1690?

I apologise for not posting recentley as I have been busy on an other project.

To the best of my knowledge many wore cut off older coats as waistcoats.
Mark allens beautiful drawings in the many articles in WI show some good detail. I have done some research on this and used both internet and local libarary to good affect. I am sure that most would agree that most male clothing of any description in the 17th centuries would have pockets of some description. I hope this helps.

Wow thanks very much for that Lindsay. Great fun trawling through those sites.

I think from what I can go on so far is that pockets were worn, but sometimes the flap was missing. On others the buttons were missing. I think I'll go with the latter.
