Using dead figures within the ranks

Post by kippax » Sat Jan 15, 2011 8:01 pm

hello all
Hope everyone had a great new year.
Im wanting to use dead figures on my WSS British Infantry regiment bases ,however not sure how that works when basing up so , if ive got an 18 man regiment and use two dead figures does that still count as 18 men or a 16 man regiment .

Andrew,

It still counts as 18 figures. Some people have from 15 to 21 "live" figures in their regiments for aesthetic reasons, but for gaming purposes the regiment still counts as having 18 figures.

Hello Ray
thanks for your reply i've copied brain phillips bases to be honest very similar to your picture..
it does add to the firing in battle representation which i like and it works very well with these front rank figures .
I've got 3 regiments of 18 firing. and looking at adding a fusilier regiment to add to my one regiment marching.
still not sure whos brigade to do yet, Ferguson's Brigade or Rowe's Brigade.

Ray; the faces on your figures are some of the best I've seen. Can you give us less talented painters a little tutorial? Thanks.

Rays figures were commission work, though I am not sure of the painter. He does do amazing work.

Getting back on topic, yes you can use dead, wounded or dying figures in your units. It adds character to the unit and has no bearing on # of figures firing/fighting.
