Hesse/Brunswick Officer Sash Colours?

Post by parkinspieces » Mon Mar 28, 2011 10:03 pm

I would be grateful if some one out there could please tell me the colour of the sash that Officer's wore in the 1690 - 1714 period for Brunswick and Hessen-Kassel troops.

I have the Uniform CD from Baccus for Hessen-Kassel/Braunschweig-Wolfenbuttel/Luneburg-Celle/Hanover 1701-1714, but all the text is in German and the colour plates only appear to show privates/troopers with the odd drummer

Of course I'm assuming they wore a sash as a badge of rank? I hope so or I've wasted my money on a load of Front Rank Officer's

Did all the Brunswick drummers wear yellow coats as in the AWI?

Thanking you all in advance.

Cheers

Stuart

P.S. Barry, I seem to remember you had a pic of a Brunswick unit in Dutch pay which I tried to find on the site for reference?

Stuart, in Bemalungsangaben fur die Zeit des Spanischen Erbfolge Kreig by Claus-Peter Goldberg they don't give Brunswick officers a sash but they do give the drummers are being in yellow coats. Hesse Kassel sashes are shown as mixed red and white.
Hope this helps?
