Thickness of Bases

Post by Captain of Dragoons » Thu Dec 29, 2005 3:15 pm

In ULB rules we have the measurements of length and width for bases but how thick should the bases be?

Has anybody try using wood for bases?

cheers,

Ed

I am going over to 2mm MDF bases for my 28mm figures, I shall let you know how they turn out

I use Litko 3mm bases. They have thin ones under 1mm and they look good on the table, but they tend to warp. The 3mm ones stand up to a lot of glue and paint and they are laser cut so they fit together perfectly.

Hello Ianb and Quindia,

I am not familiar with MDF and Litko, what type of material are they?

Thanks,

Ed

Litko isn't a what - more of a who...

Their bases are Plywood.

MDF stands for Medium Density Fiber...

Thanks for the links Quindia.

How is your ECW project going. Have you tried using a form of ULB rules in game play?

cheers,

Ed

I finished my first Royalist foot regiment (no photos yet) and have the second one out on my painting table!

As far as rules go, I was going to make an announcement on the board (and probably still will), but I haven't got around to it. I wrote my own set of rules called Victory Without Quarter and they are available for free. Just send me an e-mail at clarence@quindia.com and I will send you the PDF (kinda following Barry's lead instead of just posting the PDF so I can keep track of how many copies I get requests for).
