Franco-Bavarian Artillery at Schellenberg & Blenheim

Post by Rohan Wilmott » Sat Mar 24, 2012 12:18 pm

Hello all.

I wonder if anyone has details/references on the number of artillery in the Franco-Bavarian army and their breakdown by calibre & nationality?

Ray (Churchill) I remember your detailed listing of the Allied artillery on a previous post & wonder if you have details for the opposition?

Cheers, Rohan.

Hello, Ray, and many thanks for your reply (and forbearance - I also thought it was on another thread, but I'm d*&ned if I could find it!).

The 24 12 pdr & heavier caliber guns suggest there is a place for at least 1 positional gun model in my force!

The nice thing about not having a breakdown is that the new Warfare Miniatures guns I've just received from Barry can become Bavarians!! I feel the floppy hats suit the gunners even of this later period - so workmanlike!!

Mind you, Barry, some Tricorne hatted gunners would be welcome!! :D

Cheers, Rohan.
