I'm about to idulge in some of the impressive Ebor WSS Austrians. I intend to begin with the Brandenburg - Bayreuth regiment and would apreciate any information concerning the flags they may have carried. Apologies if this has already been covered, but I couldn't find any posts.
:)

Thanks Günter. If they are the same regiment who appear in CS Grant's 'The Armies and Uniforms of Marlborough's Wars' (Vol 1) Listed as being part of the Austrian army, then yes. If they are and the flags are the same, then that solves a lot of problems. :D

These are two different regiments. The Austrian Brandenburg-Bayreuth Regiment in WSS carried a red and blue quartered colour with red in the upper left and lower right quarters, and the imperial eagle with crown. Another variation has red, blue, red vertical stripes with the imperial eagle and crown. Both variations were carried at the same time.

Hope this helps.

Maverick Models does flags of this regiment of the WSS period. See here: http://www.maverick-models.com/wss_austris_imperial.htm

They have them in many sizes for different scales and in paper or cloth.

Hello, lenin.

The flags by Maverick listed in the WSS Austrian section are the ones you want (as I arranged for Stuart to make them  ), and are as described by Dan Schorr and illustrated in the Robert Hall & GioanCarlo Boeri book on the Austrian Army published through the Pike & Shot Society.

There is also a very good Knoetel plate illustrating the grenadiers that should be easily found with a Google search.

Nic at Ebor has done several grenadier figures specially too, and they are listed in the Austrian Foot section, so you are all set! :D

Cheers, Rohan.

Thanks Rohan, good to hear that the Maverick ones are the same as the ones that Dan showed me. As for the Ebor grenadiers, they were the ones that swung me. I'll check out the plate, as I'm now finding differences in coat colours, some say Bright Blue, some say Grey.

Me, too, I have found the flags in the book-CD by August Kuhm with the color tables by Robert Hall.
