Scenario Suggestions for gaming an "Assault"

Post by Redmist1122 » Tue Nov 26, 2013 12:58 am

With the height of gaming BLBv2 recently, I'm looking to game an "Assault on a built up area" type game and looking for possible scenarios...what do you guys have?

Would the assault be the main focal point of the engagement, or just a side-bar action?

Thanks.

Greg,

The most obvious one is surely Blenheim, definitely not a side -bar action.

What about the final breach at the siege of Namur? There were assaults through the differetn parts of the city and also I think amphibious activities as the citadel was on the opposite bank of the river.

Pick any village at Neerwinden: Laer, Rumsdorp etc. All hotly defended in some cases by units of British Guards.

Assault on Oldbridge at the Boyne?

There were villages at Blenheim (weren/t the Irish in Ober or Unterglau?)

Villages at Ramillies...

Take your pick Greg. The first demo game LoA ever did at Warcon in 1992 was the Assault on Laer

One can even argue that siege warfare was the norm during this period, and that battles were the exception.

Look for maps best here:

The list shows you all about the fights around Namur as an example

hit the button Search/Suchen on the left side and...
voila ... you will often find what you are looking for
