Post by Giorgio » Sun Dec 29, 2013 8:09 pm

In WSS there were three regiments of Wuerttemberg infantry:
- Guard Grenadiers
- Herman
- Sternfel
The flag of Guards is known as it was taken by the French and appears in "Triomphes...". It consists of state coat of arms, surrounded by green wreath, on yellow field.
Flags shown on warflag site are conjectural although based on descriptions.

According to Grant leibregiment had grey coat , yellow cuffs, black tricorn edged yellow. Grenadier CAP black with yellow piping and bag, black tassel. Drummer with reverse colour.
Had the horse leibgarde the same standard ?
Giorgio
Ps the Württemberg regiment that fought at Turin was an austrian one Ir XI. Do you know where did the leibregiment fight?

Hello Giorgio,

Thanks for the info. Do you know if the Leibregiment had the same title and uniform for the earlier War of the Grand Alliance?

Did the Wurttenbergers fight with the Confederate Army in Flanders under William III or in Italy/Savoy?

cheers

They were not in turin battle in 1706. I have found Württemberg regiments in Milan service (spanish) at Orbassano 1693 (Also known as Marsaglia) but not lifeguard.

Can anyone help about horse guard standard?

I have asked about his partecipation at Blenheim in the dedicated thread.
