Just been looking at the Wargames Command post site at the FoA 1/56 Vietnam vehicles. Great range including an Australian Centurion tank.

Roll call needed for the Vietnam weekend. Please confirm your attendance to me or via the site.

Plan is to run a series of small table games on the Saturday (probably One vs One) and then move onto a large table game for the Sunday. Empasis will be on everyone getting engaged in action quickly and having fun! Probably more Hollywood NAM than reality.

Rules will be Disposable Heroes (DH) with the Seek Out Close With and Destroy (SOCWAD) and The Long Road South (TLRS) supplements. If you don't have copies don't worry you wont need them as everyone will be given troop / platoon / squad sheets, vehicle and weapon information and helicopter data cards as required.

Just a reminder that Dave O is collating your figure/vehicle/helicopter/ boat inventory. Thanks to all who have already responded.

Still time to assemble a Huey, build an NVA bunker or a rope bridge and paddy fields if you want to contribute something to the game. If not , don't worry we will make do. Andrew - I have yours covered!

Peter

I'll be there.

I've got all the 'accoustic effects' sorted........!!

Unfortunately this is the full extent of my input into the game (sorry) -
oh, apart from a set of black pyjamas that are 2 sizes too small for me!!

Gentlemen, I very much regret that I will not be able to take part in the Vietnam game in November due to meetings all day in Edinburgh on the Friday and heading south early on the Sunday morning. I will however endeavour to look in about lunchtime on Saturday to see how it is going and catch up with you all. Yours aye, Charles

I am glad to say that the CARDS are taking shape. NVA/Vietcong cards in Communist RED. Many bizarre little twists....

How about these for two card titles:

"Charlie don't surf"

and

"The Gooks have put chemicals is the grass!"

Hope you likey BIG BOY!

Charles, sorry to hear you can't make it. Apart from your company, which is always appreciated I was going to ask you to bring along your fortification that we used in the pirate weekend but we will find something else to use.

Apart from Colin who has a couple of pieces, does anyone else have Vauban style fortifications that we can use for a citadel????
Cheers

Dear Dave, Do you need the fort for both days? I could bring it over when I pop in on the Saturday lunchtime and pick it up from Dale at the next club meeting. Yours aye, Charles

Charles, the large fort would only be used for the big Sunday game so if you don't mind bringing it along it would be wonderful to fight over it and blow it to bits. Now where can I get a 1:56 scale model of a B52?

Kev, it was really unarmed civilians in coolie hats etc so that the Imperialist pigs have something to shoot and claim they are VC  If you don't have any then it's OK Colin and myself have quite a few between us.

I am afraid I will not be able to make this weekend. I have a family birthday that weekend that I thought I could get away with missing. However, it has grown into a rather larger affair than was first organised, with family coming from overseas and I feel obliged to attend. Sorry, I was looking forward to this game.

That's sad news Peter, with you Charles and Dave Imrie not coming it's going to be a quieter weekend. I'm sure some of the guys will post some pics of what you have missed. Are you going to get to the Kirrie show the weekend before?
