16th/17th November 2013 1690 or thereabouts

Post by Dale » Sun Jun 17, 2012 9:24 pm

Barry is organising this one, I think. This is an area where there is a very large gap in my knowledge, along with all of the other gaps.

The cavalry bought from David Imrie and Roger Donaldson at the last similar game were squirreled away in a file box and joined the wall of file boxes - we've all got them. I reckon I've got a year and a half to find them and ask someone what nationality they are, such is my depth of expertise!

The cavalry that Roger painted were Dutch but I don't know which figures David painted. The battle is Neerwinden fought in 1693.

Charles and I will lead the charge on this (wow double pun in a single sentence)

Lots of defence works, lots of villages, lots of Horse, lots of Guards (at least 19 battalions of differeing nationality) Lots of big personalities... lots of fun!

Unfortunately it looks as if I'm going to miss this one.
My friend is having a large birthday bash for her 60th and I'm expected to attend although I can't see my miserable face cheering up the proceedings as I was really looking forward to this one

I will probably be missing the March weekend as well because of my daughters wedding, not because of timing but lack of money :(

As most of you will know we have diminished numbers for this weekend and because of circumstances this will be a World War II bash in 28mm using Bolt Action rules and run by Colin with everyone contributing figures/vehicles where they can.

Can we assemble at the hall from 7.00pm to set up the tables for the next morning and then head for Kingarth for a beer and a chat.

I just wonder if this could be the last one with current problems?

An excellent weekend. Thanks to Colin for stepping into the breech and running a series of Bolt Action WWII scenarios, all balanced and challenging.
Dinner in the Swan was back up to earlier standards.
The 2013 dates continue as previosly announced.
