Gabions

Post by quindia » Fri Nov 04, 2005 1:20 pm

Anybody know a manufacturer who makes these for 28mm? I am trying to avoid having to weave tiny little baskets. I need some for my ECW artillery stands.

Hi,

Try Front Rank, equipment range, pack EQ22, £3.40 for four if I remember correctly, they are big chunky and weighty, will go really well with your ECW stuff, saw your figures on your site very nice.

All the best,

Mark.

Thanks, Mark! That's exactly what I was looking for - should have checked my own links page!

I've got some nice resin ones that were easy to paint, and came from an ACW range that included gun emplacements with a choice of earth embankments or gabions, and a lovely model of the house at Chancellorsville but I can't for the life of me remember who I got them from. They could prove cheaper than lead ones. anyone else out there know the company, and if its still trading ?

After your suggestion, I searched for "resin gabions" and I have found some resin terrain here:

http://battlefieldterrain.com/index.html (but these were mostly 15mm - there is a 25mm Redoubt so maybe there's more to come).

I'm sure there are more. Anyway, I think now I'm spoiled for choices... thanks guys!
