We hear that the venue is now confirmed but the them has changed!!!!
No longer the Scots at War it is now 1863 the year of decision.. or something like that. Clarence and I are still planning on being there but what we do as a game is now less certain. We were originally going for Killiecrankie but now might flex ourselves a little. Watch this space!

Gavin and I have airline tickets all set for the Convention. I think he plans to run his Nap rules and or ACW version of same rules. I'm just going to hang out.

I must say that I wondered about the theme when I read it on their website
. In 2013 they would have had the 150th anniversary of Gettysburgh while going for the Scots Wars instead was something i couldnt understand.
Even when they have changed to the Napoleonic theme they would have a 200th anniversary of Bautzen, Luetzen, Dresden, Katzbach, Dennewitz and not to forget Leipzig. But now... I am feel sorry for You and Clarence and Your possible Killiecrankie Game.

I would encourage you to still do the Killicrankie game. There will be be plenty of other ACW games there, and I think many people would like to see something a little different. I look forward to meeting you there, since I live only and hour from the venue.

Well, Clarence and I are not discouraged by the change of theme at all!
We'll stick with something in the Pike and Shot era and Killiecrankie is still a very strong possibility so, stay tuned.
Dannie, will look forward to meeting you!

Yes, I don't think we're going to do an ACW theme. I would much rather do something to promote BLB and Warfare Miniatures... I'm looking forward to the convention being in VA too because it's only four hours from my house!

HISTORICON 2013
Fredericksburg, VA
July 18-21, 2013
Theme (from the HMGS members only Discussion Group): "In recognition of the continuing 150th Anniversary Celebrations, the original theme has been postponed and replaced with: The American Civil War: 150 years – 1863 Year of Decision".

Take an ACW battle and rework it for the War of the League of Augsburg, or Napoleonics. There's plenty of interesting ideas you could work with.

Barry: I think that your many supporters in the USA would prefer to see one of your awesome BLB games with Warfare Miniatures - we do not get many opportunities to see either at American conventions.

The ACW does nothing but bring up bad blood to the hardcores, "My grand pappy killed your grand pappy! Thems fightin' words!" etc.
Run BLB

Well, chaps, I'd much rather stay on EVERYONE'S good side in the US!
So, BLB would be an easy choice.. Clarence and I are planning to be there. We have found that the organizers are a little less proactive than the previous regime so as of now we are still waiting on some confirmation of tables/options etc.
It's in my diary so I am planning to muster and present our troops for inspection!

I look forward to seeing you there. Icahn bring my Warfare figures, if you like.

I recently made my reservations to attend Historicon as a dealer (Fife & Drum Miniatures) but I waited too long to book a hotel, so I'm about 5-10 miles away, alas. I will also try to run at least one AWI game, but doing that and running a dealer booth is a bit of a problem as I am a one-man operation
That likely means that I won't be able to play in a BLB game unless one is scheduled in the evening after the dealer area closes. still, I look forward to meeting all of the LoA people at the convention.
